Is Travertine a good flooring choice for my home?

Travertine is a great stone because it can take a beating. It will not show significant damage from scratches, chip or cracks. Like any natural stone it has some maintenance that is required but if it is kept up with it can last decades. Sounds great right? Just remember that it is a solid-stone so retains cold well. This can be solved with a in floor heating system. Once the tile heats up it is a great conductor of heat and will help warm up the entire room.
