Honed vs Polished

Honed vs Polished 0

Marble makes a great surface for your home. It is wonderful for countertops, backsplashes, or floors. Before installing marble in your home there are a couple different finishes that you should know about. The two common types of finishes for marble are honed and polished. Honed is created by sanding the surface of the stone to make it a soft matte finish. Honed marble will not show scratches as much as polished marble, which makes it better for high traffic rooms. The polished marble finish offers an elegant feel with the shiny surface. Polished marble can be slippery, which is not recommended for showers. Marble is a sturdy and durable stone no matter the finish but each one will need special care and maintenance to prolong its lifetime.
